What Is Advanced Therapeutics?

Advanced Therapeutics combines the foundational principles of rehabilitation — clinical assessment, movement, mobility, strength and patient education — with carefully selected therapeutic tools.

At Restore, technology does not replace the skill of your physical therapist. Instead, it gives Trish additional ways to address different components of pain and movement dysfunction.

Depending on your assessment, your treatment plan may include:

Not every person needs every therapy. Your treatment plan is based on your symptoms, examination findings, goals and response to care.

Clinical Expertise Meets Personalized Care

Trish Talone is a licensed physical therapist and the Clinical Director of Physical Therapy at Restore Health & Longevity Center.

Rather than following a predetermined protocol, Trish evaluates how your muscles, joints, nervous system and movement patterns may be contributing to the problem. She then develops a personalized treatment plan that may combine traditional physical therapy with advanced therapeutic technologies.

Her goal is not simply to provide temporary relief. It is to help you better understand your body, improve how you move and develop a practical path toward lasting function.

A More Complete Approach to Pain and Movement

Pain can have several contributing factors. A muscle may be tight because another area is weak. A tendon may remain irritated because of repetitive loading. A joint restriction may change how surrounding muscles function. An old injury may lead to compensation elsewhere in the body.

This is why treating only the painful area does not always provide a lasting solution. Trish evaluates the broader picture, including:

This information helps identify which combination of treatment, movement and education is most appropriate for you.

Conditions We Commonly Address

Physical therapy and advanced therapeutics may be appropriate for individuals experiencing:

Neck, Shoulder and Upper-Body Concerns

Back, Hip and Lower-Body Concerns

Sports and Activity-Related Injuries

Movement and Performance Goals

The appropriate treatment depends on the individual. An initial assessment is necessary to determine whether physical therapy and any advanced therapeutic modalities are suitable for your condition.

Pillar One: Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a clinical technique that uses thin, sterile, single-use needles to target muscles, trigger points and areas of neuromuscular dysfunction. It may be incorporated into a broader treatment plan to help address:

Dry Needling is not acupuncture. Although both use thin needles, they are based on different clinical frameworks and treatment goals.

Pillar Two: Elvation Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy applies acoustic pressure waves to targeted areas of tissue. It may be considered as part of a rehabilitation plan for certain chronic tendon, fascia and soft-tissue concerns. Depending on the condition, Shockwave Therapy may be used to support the management of:

Shockwave is not appropriate for every condition or every stage of healing. The treatment area, intensity and number of sessions should be selected according to the individual’s presentation and response.

Pillar Three: MedRay Class IV Laser Therapy

Class IV Laser Therapy delivers therapeutic light energy to a targeted treatment area. It may be incorporated into a rehabilitation plan to support temporary pain relief, circulation and tissue recovery.

Benefits of Laser Therapy:

Patients commonly describe the treatment as comfortable and may feel a gentle warming sensation. Laser Therapy is noninvasive and does not involve needles or medication. Trish may use Class IV Laser Therapy alongside movement, manual treatment or other therapies when it is clinically appropriate.

The Restore “Power of Three”

For selected musculoskeletal concerns, Trish may recommend a combination of all three advanced therapies inside one coordinated physical therapy plan.

01

Dry Needling

To address muscular trigger points, guarding and neuromuscular dysfunction.

02

Shockwave Therapy

To target certain chronic tendon or soft-tissue concerns.

03

Class IV Laser Therapy

To support pain management and recovery.

For selected musculoskeletal concerns, Trish may recommend a combination of all three advanced therapies inside one coordinated physical therapy plan.
The Power of Three is not a preset package for every patient. Some individuals may benefit from one modality, a different combination or primarily movement-based rehabilitation. Your plan is based on your examination and goals.

More Technology Is Not Always Better The Right Plan Is

At Restore, advanced technology is never used simply because it is available.

Your treatment begins with a physical therapy assessment — not with a machine or modality. Trish determines which findings are most relevant and which treatments are most likely to help you progress.

This means your care may evolve over time. Early sessions may focus on reducing sensitivity and improving mobility. Later sessions may emphasize strength, control, endurance and returning to activity. The purpose of every treatment is to move you toward your functional goals.

What to Expect During Your Initial Assessment

Your first visit is a comprehensive, one-on-one appointment with Trish.

1. Conversation and Health History

To address muscular trigger points, guarding and neuromuscular dysfunction.

2. Movement and Physical Assessment

Your assessment may include evaluation of range of motion, strength, flexibility, balance, joint mobility, muscle activation, posture, functional movements and areas of tenderness or restriction.

3. Explanation of Findings

Trish will explain what she observes and how those findings may relate to your symptoms. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and better understand the proposed plan.

4. Personalized Treatment Recommendations

Your plan may include movement-based therapy, hands-on treatment, Dry Needling, Shockwave, Class IV Laser or another appropriate combination.

5. Your Next Steps

You will receive recommendations for follow-up care, activities to modify and exercises or self-care strategies to use between visits.

What Makes Physical Therapy at Restore Different?

One-on-One Clinical Attention

Your care is guided by a licensed physical therapist who evaluates your progress and adjusts your plan.

An Individualized Strategy

We do not assume that every patient with the same diagnosis needs the same treatment.

Advanced Therapeutic Technology

Trish has access to Dry Needling, Shockwave and Class IV Laser Therapy when these tools are appropriate for your needs.

Movement Remains the Foundation

Advanced modalities may help create an opportunity for better movement, but strength, mobility and functional rehabilitation remain essential.

Collaboration Within Restore

When appropriate, Trish can coordinate with Restore’s Upper Cervical Chiropractic and recovery team.

Care Designed Around Your Life

Your plan considers your work, exercise, sport, responsibilities and personal goals — not merely findings on an examination.

Supporting Recovery Beyond the Treatment Room

Depending on your needs and medical history, your physical therapy plan may be complemented by other Restore services, such as:
These services are not automatically included in physical therapy and may not be appropriate for everyone. Trish and the Restore team can help you understand which options, if any, may complement your primary treatment plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral for physical therapy?

Referral and insurance requirements can vary. Contact Restore before scheduling if you have questions about referrals, payment or documentation.

No. Dry Needling is used only when Trish determines that it is appropriate for your symptoms, examination findings and treatment goals.
Not necessarily. Some patients may benefit from a combination of therapies, while others may need only one modality or a movement-focused approach. Your plan will be individualized.
People experience Dry Needling differently. You may feel pressure, a brief muscle twitch, aching or temporary soreness. Trish will explain the process and check your comfort throughout treatment.
Shockwave can create a tapping or intense pressure sensation. The treatment level can be adjusted according to the area being treated and your tolerance. Temporary tenderness may occur afterward.
Most patients find Laser Therapy comfortable. You may feel gentle warmth over the treatment area.
The number of visits depends on the nature and duration of the problem, your goals, your overall health and how you respond to treatment. Trish will discuss expectations after completing your assessment.

Many people seek physical therapy for persistent or recurring pain. Chronic symptoms can have several contributing factors, so a thorough evaluation is important. Although no treatment can guarantee a particular result, physical therapy may help identify modifiable factors and create a structured plan for improving function.

Yes. Trish works with active adults and athletes who want to recover from an injury, improve movement or return to golf, tennis, pickleball, running, strength training and other activities.

Not always. Trish may recommend temporarily modifying certain activities, but the goal is generally to keep you moving safely while gradually rebuilding capacity.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and gives Trish access to the area being evaluated. Athletic clothing is usually best.
